Privacy Policy
1. Overview & Local-First Architecture
Northgrid Labs (operated by Zewen Fu) builds privacy-respecting browser developer tools, including the LinkPulse: Broken Link & Redirect Checker Chrome extension. LinkPulse is architected to run its link discovery, HTTP status checks, and redirect chain analysis 100% locally inside your web browser.
2. Data Processed by the LinkPulse Browser Extension
- Webpage Content & Scanned URLs (Local Only): When you click Scan Page or Crawl Site, LinkPulse reads anchor links, image URLs, and HTTP redirect headers on the target webpage directly within your browser. None of your browsing history, visited pages, DOM content, or audit reports are ever transmitted to Northgrid Labs servers.
- Local Browser Storage: Scan preferences, ignored domains, trial scan count, and scan diff snapshots are stored exclusively on your device via
chrome.storage.local. - Pro License Verification (Minimal Server Check): Only when you enter and activate a Pro license key does the extension send a request to
https://northgridhq.com/api/license/verifycontaining your license key, product version, and a randomly generated anonymous browser instance ID (lpInstanceId) to enforce the 3-browser activation limit.
3. Chrome Web Store User Data & Limited Use Compliance
Northgrid Labs' use and transfer of information received from Google APIs or Chrome extension permissions adheres strictly to the Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the Limited Use requirements:
- We do not collect, log, sell, or monetize web browsing activity or scanned website content.
- We do not use or transfer user data for personalized advertising, creditworthiness, or data brokerage.
- We do not load or execute remote code.
4. Website Purchases & Payment Processing (Paddle)
When you purchase LinkPulse Pro on northgridhq.com, checkout and payment processing are handled directly by our Merchant of Record, Paddle.com Market Ltd. We do not receive or store your full credit card or banking credentials. Paddle shares your order transaction ID, subscription status, and billing email address with us solely so we can issue, verify, and recover your software license key.
5. Data Retention & Your Rights
License records (email address, Paddle transaction/subscription ID, license key, and anonymous device activation timestamps) are retained while your license remains active and as required for tax/accounting compliance. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@northgridhq.com.
